General Audition Procedures:

The following steps of auditions will be taken for each respective mainstage musical and play casting, subject to change at director’s discretion.

Musical Auditions:

1) Monologue: Students will perform a 1 to 2-minute monologue from a play or musical of their choice. A monologue for a musical theatre audition is optional but highly recommended.

2) Singing: Students will sing from one of several selections from a musical that are provided by the music director. Students can choose which selection they will sing, and background music will be provided.

3) Dancing: Students will perform a choreographed dance selection. The dance will be provided by the choreographer.

4) Callbacks: Invited students will participate in cold-reading callbacks. Not all students will be invited to callbacks, and a callback invitation does not guarantee casting.

Play Auditions:

1) Monologue: Students will perform a 1 to 2-minute monologue from a play or musical of their choice.

2) Callbacks: Invited students will participate in cold-reading callbacks. Not all students will be invited to callbacks, and a callback invitation does not guarantee casting.
