Mission and values

Mission:

To provide creative learning opportunities for all students, regardless of race, gender, or ability through our theatre course offerings and mainstage productions. Our goal is to foster creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and self-expression through rigorous theatre performance and technical courses.

Values:

We believe that all students, regardless of their current level of ability, have the capacity for growth in the realms of theater performance and technical theater.

We believe that students should be graded and coached based on their own ability level and growth, not against other students.

We believe that the highly personal artistic journey is unique for each individual artist.

We believe that the growth that happens in the learning of the theatrical arts occurs during the creative process. As such, the focus of learning is on the individual student’s process and not the end product.

We believe that respect and creative collaboration between actors, technicians, crew members, and the production team are paramount in creating a productive theatrical ensemble and a positive creative environment and that such an environment is critical for educational theatre.
